Sarah Jane Oliver has studied classical dance technique for 26 years. She began her training in classical ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop in Tyler, Texas through Arts with a Mission at the age of 3. She continued her education in New Mexico at the Academy of Ballet in Alamogordo, The Las Cruces School of Dance and Music, and danced with the Ruidoso Dance Ensemble. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Dance Education and Performance from New Mexico State University in 2015. Sarah Jane has taken workshops with USA Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Ailey II, Morgan "Mo" Williams with Waterstreet Dance Company, and Maria Fliagina with State Street Ballet.
In addition to her performing experience, Sarah Jane has a wide variety of experience in choreography. At age 17 she choreographed her first musical, “Guys and Dolls”. She continued to explore choreography in full classics such as “West Side Story”, “The Nutcracker”, and “The Gift of the Magus”. Throughout college, Sarah Jane was given many opportunities to create choreography in class and on the stage. In 2015, her choreography was chosen to represent New Mexico State University at the American College Dance Festival in Lubbock, TX and later received the faculty award for outstanding choreography.
Sarah Jane currently lives in Farmington, NM with her husband and daughters. She loves to teach ballet and modern for all levels. Sarah's passion is to bring body awareness, quality technique and choreographic integrity to her dancers.
